Disney founded an entertainment empire, including movie, theme parks and television. Following his death his company would successfully enter into cruise lines and radio businesses.


Disney’s visionary leadership spurred the creativity in his company’s cartons by rewarding every idea with extra pay. He also is credited with developing "3D" cartoons by using multiple plates in the animation process.


Not everyone that is a visionary is such a great leader. Some become over burdened by perfectionism or by a desire to make their vision even greater and never get started on execution.

As the park was opening it is said his brother, Roy, was overseeing the project from the air. Circling the park he was told it was too bad Walt didn’t live long enough to see the park. Roy replied that Disney had seen the completed park long before construction even began - in his mind.
