When problems occur many business leaders look for
someone to blame. If a mistake was made the leader needs
to look no further than a mirror. Why? Because the leader
created the culture allowing the mistake to happen.

Of course not all leaders see mistakes as a problem. Many
businesses understand mistakes offer two advantages.

  1. They provide an opportunity to learn. Mistakes often
expose weaknesses in policies or procedures or
identify where an organization’s training is lacking.
  2. They show a desire to take chances, which can be
very good if expanding one’s comfort zone, increasing
a product offering, or seeking new ways of handling
existing processes that may not be efficient or up-to-
    date.
