Every company and organization seems to have at least one status location. This is the spot at which team members are feel they are special. In many cases other employees feel intimidated by or admire those that work in this special spot.
Their feelings, whether perceived or real, results in different cultures within the larger organization. The result can be healthy competition but far too often it can lead to harmful competition, resentment, lack of productivity, and human resource issues.
Managers need to understand the Work Location Cultures within their location in order to maximize the results on their top and bottom lines.
